What this onion export dataset covers
Scope matters: the report uses State: Maharashtra, Port: All, Country: All and Product: Fresh Onions. It covers the port/customs locations under that state filter. These are industry trade statistics, not AL NOOR EXIM shipment volumes, all-India exports or proof that every onion was grown in Maharashtra.
The figures provide historical context for importers comparing Indian onion supply markets. They do not confirm current stock, freight availability, buying demand or an individual exporter’s capacity.
Monthly onion exports: April to July 2026
The source’s month columns form a cumulative series. We calculate each later month as the difference from the preceding cumulative total, rather than describing the April–July total as July-only exports.
| Month, 2026 | Quantity (MT) | Export value (₹ crore) |
|---|---|---|
| April | 58,213.35 | 116.08 |
| May | 83,584.30 | 167.95 |
| June | 103,992.33 | 249.45 |
| July | 70,223.43 | 217.14 |
| April–July total | 316,013.41 | 750.62 |
July quantity was 32.5% lower than June; the recorded export value was 13.0% lower. A smaller value decline does not demonstrate higher exporter profit: grade mix, transaction values and shipment costs require separate investigation.
Selected destinations, including UAE and Oman
These destinations are selected from the covered report. April–July quantities are cumulative; July quantities below are derived by subtracting June’s cumulative figure. This is not a ranking of all Indian onion markets.

Primary source: four APEDA-format exports supplied for analysis, each identifying DGCIS as its data source. Their headers specify Fresh Onions, Maharashtra and all ports/countries. Recheck the selection using APEDA AgriExchange’s State/Port export report. For the separate national overview, see APEDA’s Fresh Onions page.
Working series: the supplied multi-month report headed “2026-27 (July, June, May, April)”. Its July cumulative quantity and value agree with the July-labelled export. The separate April–July files provide a cross-check of destination totals. This is an interpretation of the supplied exports, not a claim that a live APEDA query was reproduced today.
Calculation: July quantity = 316,013.41 − 245,789.98 = 70,223.43 MT. July value = ₹750.62 − ₹533.48 = ₹217.14 crore. Month-on-month changes compare derived monthly amounts. Country rows use the same subtraction method.
Rounding differences: the supplied files show April–July totals between 316,013.38 and 316,013.47 MT. We use the multi-month series total of 316,013.41 MT consistently; minor displayed differences between extracts are not treated as extra shipments.
Period and interpretation: this page contains actual reported figures only through July 2026. It does not include August–October actuals or forecasts. Recorded export values are historical trade values, not current onion prices, CIF quotations or AL NOOR EXIM revenue. A partial port-group dataset cannot establish a destination’s total demand or explain changes in routing.
Do not compare a full financial year directly with four months and call the difference year-on-year growth. A like-for-like growth comparison needs matching periods and report filters.
